About the Coffee

Chocolada represents a unique collaboration between FreeForm and renowned Brazilian coffee producer Rafael Vinhal. By artfully blending two of Rafael’s experimentally processed microlots - Pina Colada and Chocolate Estate - we’ve created a coffee that encapsulates the essence of summer indulgence.

Rafael's Pina Colada microlot contributes big tropical notes of toasted coconut and and hint of pineapple, achieved through innovative fermentation techniques. Meanwhile, his Chocolate Estate microlot offers rich, velvety chocolate undertones. Together, they harmonize to produce a cup with a silky smooth body, creamy mouthfeel, and a delightful almond-like base note.

This blend is a testament to the possibilities unlocked through experimental processing and close producer-roaster collaboration. It’s a tropical treat designed to bring a taste of the Brazilian summer to your cup.

Rafael Vinhal is a third-generation coffee producer based in the Cerrado Mineiro region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Since taking the helm of his family’s farms, Fazenda Recanto and Fazenda Estrela, Rafael has been at the forefront of coffee innovation, experimenting with over 17 different processing methods to enhance flavor profiles.

His commitment to quality and sustainability has earned him multiple accolades, including top placements in Brazil’s Coffee of the Year and Expocaccer competitions. The farms are certified by Rainforest Alliance, 4C, and Certifica Minas, reflecting their dedication to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
